Worship at PEace

Sundays at 9:15 aM

The gospel (or good news) is not just information about what Jesus did to save sinners. It is also the power God uses to work faith in our hearts and transform our lives. Therefore, Lutheran worship places the gospel in central focus in an order of service called the liturgy. In the message and meal (Holy Communion), in specially selected Scripture readings, and in carefully crafted songs, prayers, and creeds, the liturgy proclaims the good news about Jesus from start to finish.

At Peace, we strive for worship that is...

    • more celebration than party.
    • more accessible than simplistic.
    • more profound than complicated.
    • more worthwhile than convenient.
    • more timeless than traditional.
    • more diverse than contemporary.
    • more crucial than casual.
Come join us. Don't stress about what to wear or how to act. Come just as you are. We will work hard to make sure you feel welcome. But we will also tell it like it is - helping you come face to face with your living and loving God.

Children and Church

Sometimes parents (and even churches) can think that church is not a place for children. At Peace, we're convinced that nothing could be further from the truth. We want children in church to worship with their families and learn about Jesus' love.

Why?

  • Even from the earliest of ages, children are models of faith that all of us can learn from (Luke 18:16,17).
  • Our worship format not only encourages families to be together but is ideally suited for active engagement and participation by all, including children.
  • The sights and sounds of active children within our congregation are a great joy to us and evidence that God is blessing our future even now.

We realize that, especially at first, having children in church can be a challenge for parents. To help, we offer the following:

  • A children's devotion tailored specifically to help your kids learn about God.
  • Other moms who are willing and ready to help if needed.
  • Children's activity sheets that kids can work on during the service.

DEAF MINISTRY

We are pleased to have a highly capable American Sign Language interpreter to help the deaf and hearing impaired participate in the proclamation of the Word of God, sacraments, liturgy, sermon, prayers, and hymns.

What to Expect

Q & A

  • What does worship look, sound and feel like?  At Peace we aim for balance and excellence in what we do.  We honor the past and Christians who have come before us through the use of liturgy, creeds, and confession of sins...but we also use our Christian freedom incorporating Christ-centered creativity and variations.  Most importantly, everything in worship revolves around Jesus, His Love, His, Freedom, and His Forgiveness.

  • What should I wear?  Anything you feel comfortable in.  More important than what to wear is that you are there.

  • Who is worship for?  In short everyone.  For the sceptic...the disillusioned...the curious...the brand new...the long time believer...those with grey hair...no hair...long hair...kids...elderly...democrat...republican...blue collar...white collar...men...women...single...married...divorced...you get the picture.

  • What about families?  We worship as a family-inclusive church. Instead of separating parents and kids, we involve all ages in the same worship. With something for everyone, we worship together, not apart. We find this is a great way to strengthen faith and families. Every Sunday there will be a short message tailored for children.

  • Do you Baptize babies?  Yes, we do for member and non-member alike.  Jesus himself said, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."  Matt 28:19,20.  Baptism washes away sins, forgives and gives us new life as children of God.  Want your child baptized?
